A FATHER’S LOVE IN THE FACE OF LOSS
I met one of the most amazing men I have ever met and his life is an example of resilience, love, and the power of community. After the tragic loss of his wife, his “community” stepped in and connected me with him and his daughter. I had families texting me, emailing me and calling me so that I could go out and do a ‘Moms On Call” In-Person consultation when he brought his daughter, Juliet, home. In the midst of his grief, Ebbie showed up big, demonstrating unwavering love for his daughter and inspiring countless others with his strength and determination.
With the help of his friends, family and community, Ebbie began his journey as a single father. He took on the daunting task of learning how to be both mother and father to his daughter, facing numerous challenges along the way. From navigating diapers and feedings to soothing late-night cries, Ebbie embraced every aspect of fatherhood with grace, love and dedication.
But Ebbie’s journey didn’t end with just caring for his daughter. He realized that his experience could be a source of inspiration and support for others going through similar hardships. Ebbie became an advocate, sharing his story and offering a listening ear to those in need. His openness, vulnerability, and willingness to help others were a testament to his incredible strength of character.
Ebbie’s journey reminds us of the importance of community during times of grief and transition. It is through the support and love of others that we find the strength to carry on.
I am so thankful to be a part of such an incredible story. Ebbie shares his story and demonstrates the power of a father’s love through his everyday relationships. He is an incredible example of strength, resilience, and his unwavering commitment to his daughter and family is an inspiration to us all.

2 Timothy 1:9-12
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
Romans 11:36
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
Isaiah 12:2 NLT
“See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight”
Psalms 125:1
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever”
Phil. 4:13
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Psalms 23:4-6 NLT
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Romans 5:3-6 NLT
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”
Genesis 50:20
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
Phil. 4:6

Jeremiah 29:11
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Isiah 45:3
I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
Psalms 40:1-4 NLT
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.
